the word potential, it's evil. it's the thing no one wants to hear, yet strive for and yearn to be categorized under. everyone wants it, and everyone hates it. you know what i'm talking about. the jealousy. no one likes hearing how much potential others have and how they're going to go on to bigger and better things. the anger. you don't want to hear how much potential you have and how far you could go, if only you'd apply yourself. we've all been told either of these. there's no escaping them. there's no denying them. you are your own downfall of potential. whether you do go on to better things, or whether you don't apply yourself. see, no one really gives a thought to what potential really is, cause in reality, they don't know for themselves. the ones who tell you how much potential you have but you never apply yourself, where are they? are they completely satisfied? with where they are? with who they are? no, maybe sometimes they'll admit to their own faults, but they always say you have a chance, they let you in on their ultimate wisdom, though they failed to fully apply themselves. but what of those who go on to bigger and better, are they completely satisfied? no. fact is, it's hard to be completely satisfied. so then, what of potential? what's it's use? evil. to scare you, to control you, to mold and manipulate. that's potential. potential is the a.c.t. and s.a.t. potential is standardization. potential is affirmative action. potential is the electoral college. potential is quota. potential is mass consumerism. potential is church radicalism. let's come up with "potentialism" for all those things that just could be, if we try harder, if we become something different, if we mold and allow manipulation. potentialism, the foundation of the creation of a great nation of saturation where it no longer matters if we're happy or content with who or what we are, even if that's below "par", the "par" set by someone else rather than yourself. by someone who's not you, who doesn't know the inside of you, who doesn't know your needs and desires, who doesn't know exactly what you want and how easy and simple what you want could be. someone who "sees" who and what you "could be" when they themself are the downfall of their own potential. potential. don't buy into it. everyone wants it, everyone has it, no one needs it.
